Putin invites Zelensky to visit Moscow if he is ready for a meeting.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok on Friday, Peskov said: “Zelensky was invited to Moscow for a conversation, not for surrender.”

When asked why Moscow was chosen, Peskov confirmed it was “Putin’s suggestion.”

He added: “It was his proposal, and we see that Zelensky rejected it through his foreign minister.”

However, Peskov noted that progress is being made in settling the Ukrainian conflict, but it is too early to talk about when it will be completed.

Peskov reminded that “Putin said there is a glimmer of hope,” adding that the Kremlin is not ready to “guess” specific dates.

The Russian president had invited Zelensky to visit the Russian capital Moscow “if he is ready to hold a meeting,” according to Putin’s statement to journalists at the end of his visit to China on Wednesday.

Previously, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow currently has no plans to hold a meeting between Putin and Zelensky, confirming Putin’s readiness to meet when proper preparations for the meeting are made.
