The Kremlin spokesman told reporters, “There are no plans so far” to hold talks with Trump.
Earlier on Wednesday, Trump said during a meeting with his Polish counterpart Karol Nawrocki at the White House, in response to a question about when he would decide on the deadline he set for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Zelensky, that he intends to speak with him “soon.”
Later, AFP reported quoting a White House official that Trump will call Zelensky on Thursday.
It is worth noting that a phone call took place between the two presidents on August 18 following Trump’s meeting with Vladimir Zelensky and European leaders.
It is also noted that the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, discussed ways to resolve the Ukrainian conflict during their meeting in Alaska on August 15. The two leaders described the meeting positively. The Russian president announced at the end of the summit the possibility of reaching an end to the conflict in Ukraine, affirming that Russia is interested in a long-lasting peace.
