The Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities issued a statement regarding the recent crisis of the withdrawal of Zamalek Club’s land in October City. The October City Authority withdrew the land due to violation of allocation conditions and failure to comply with the construction deadline. Despite appeals from Zamalek and its board headed by Hussein Labib to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for intervention, the ministry’s position remains unchanged. The statement emphasized the legality and transparency of the procedures taken and confirmed that no action will be taken to reallocate or change the status of the land until the Public Prosecution resolves the complaint regarding change of use. The ministry also expressed appreciation for Zamalek Club’s longstanding social and sports role and offered to study allocating a new suitable land for sports and service activities if the club is serious and meets the required conditions.
