Russian President Vladimir Putin stated today in Beijing that economic agreements with China are “beneficial to both sides,” noting that his country will supply Beijing with more than 100 billion cubic meters of gas to meet the growing global energy demand.

Regarding Ukraine, Putin emphasized that Moscow is not fighting to gain territory and reiterated his rejection of Ukraine’s accession to NATO.

On the possibility of a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Putin said he is ready to meet on the condition of proper preparation, explaining that he informed former U.S. President Donald Trump of his readiness to host Zelensky in Moscow “if he is ready for it.”

However, he also considered that Zelensky’s powers have ended and that any meeting with him under current circumstances “will not yield results,” calling on Kyiv to hold a referendum and elections after ending martial law as a way to resolve regional issues.

Putin also clarified that the issue of security guarantees for Ukraine is not linked to any land exchange, denying that such a proposal was made during the Alaska summit with President Trump.
