Under the directives of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced today a ministerial reshuffle in the federal government.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid said: “Brothers and sisters… After the approval of my brother, the President, we announce today the appointment of brother Ahmed Al Saif as Minister of Health in the UAE. We thank the esteemed brother Abdulrahman Al Owais for his service in the Ministry of Health over the past years, which witnessed continuous changes to develop the federal health system. Brother Abdulrahman Al Owais will continue with us in the UAE government as Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs. We wish them both success in their government duties and all the best to all national teams in the UAE.”

The reshuffle included the appointment of His Excellency Ahmed bin Ali Mohammed Al Saif as Minister of Health and Prevention, while His Excellency Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Owais continues in his position as Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs.

Ahmed Al Saif has held the position of Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since September 2018, overseeing economic and commercial affairs. His efforts focused on preparing and implementing economic diversification plans for the UAE, managing relations with Asian countries and the Commonwealth of Independent States, and enhancing strategic partnerships and investment opportunities.

He also holds several other positions, including Board Member and Executive Committee Member of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Board Member of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), Vice Chairman of the Emirates Nature-WWF, and Co-Chairman of the UAE-UK Business Council.

He has held many important positions across various UAE government sectors, including Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), Chairman of Aldar Properties, Chairman of Masdar, Board Member of Etihad Aviation Group, Board Member of Mubadala Investment Company, and Vice Chairman of First Gulf Bank.

He also held senior positions at ADNOC and Abu Dhabi Investment Company. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Lewis & Clark College in the United States.
