Egyptian investigative authorities have issued a decision today to freeze all personal assets of the famous blogger Hadeer Abdelrazek and temporarily prevent her from disposing of them, pending ongoing investigations in a complex criminal case.

This measure comes just days after the postponement of her appeal session against a one-year prison sentence for “publishing content violating public morals,” which keeps her in detention, marking a new development deepening her legal crisis.

Hadeer Abdelrazek (28 years old) is an Egyptian blogger who gained wide fame since 2022 through TikTok and Instagram, attracting over a million followers with content about “underwear and daily life.” However, she sparked controversy due to “indecent hints” and began facing legal troubles in May 2024 when police arrested her on charges of “promoting debauchery and immorality” following complaints, according to Article 178 of the Penal Code, which punishes with imprisonment from 6 months to 2 years.

In July 2025, she was released on bail of 5,000 Egyptian pounds in a “scandalous video” case but was later imprisoned in other cases, including 11 “indecent” videos found on her phone and a hit-and-run incident causing injury to a citizen.

According to the public prosecution’s decision, the asset freeze includes all of Abdelrazek’s financial assets, including “cash, bank deposits, electronic wallets, bonds, safes, personal real estate,” whether held in banks, companies, or any other entity within the republic.

Sales, transfers, pledges, or any other disposition are prohibited, with the possibility of extension based on investigation results. Judicial sources confirmed that this measure aims to “preserve the rights of the state and society,” especially amid previous accusations of earning financial profits from “indecent” content on platforms like TikTok, with recorded revenues of about 1,486 US dollars from live streaming.

Meanwhile, the Cairo Economic Court of Appeal postponed Abdelrazek’s appeal session against the one-year prison sentence issued in absentia in the case of “inciting debauchery and immorality” to a later date. Despite filing an appeal opposition, she was not released and remains detained based on another ruling from the Talbia Misdemeanor Court sentencing her to 3 months in a case of “insulting family values.”

These developments come amid a series of cases involving Hadeer Abdelrazek since May 2024, as her videos about “fashion and women’s life” led to public and private complaints, including a fight with her ex-husband and a hit-and-run incident in Al-Haram. The decision sparked anger on social media, with her supporters seeing it as a “restriction on freedom of expression,” while others justify it as a “necessity to protect public morals.”
