Recently, the artist Yasser Galal announced his joining the Senate by a decision from the President of the Republic.
Yasser posted on his official Facebook page a photo of himself, commenting: “Praise be to God.. I am honored to join the membership of the Egyptian Senate. With all love and respect, I thank President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his continuous support of art, culture, and creatives in our country.”
Yasser Galal added: “I thank the Homeland Protectors Party for the nomination, and God willing, I hope to live up to expectations and be a proud representative for my fellow artists within the council.”
He pointed out: “Having artists inside the Senate is a great honor and an opportunity for the artist to have a presence and a heard voice in such a respected council, and for the artist to be part of the national discussion, not just a distant spectator.”
He continued: “Art is part of the country’s identity, and its voice must be present in every space that talks about its future. I pray to God to be a true addition and to succeed in representing artists and creatives in a manner befitting their status and the value of Egyptian art.”
