Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday that the army will remain in most parts of Gaza after he approved the peace plan announced by US President Donald Trump.
Netanyahu added on the Telegram platform: “We will recover all our hostages alive and in good health, while the Israeli army will remain in most parts of the Gaza Strip,” according to Sky News Arabia.
He also stated that he did not agree to the establishment of a Palestinian state during his talks with President Trump at the White House, and “we made it very clear that we strongly oppose a Palestinian state.”
Netanyahu praised Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza in a video statement from Washington posted on X, saying, “It was a historic visit. Instead of Hamas isolating us, we turned things around and succeeded in isolating it.”
Netanyahu added: “Now, the whole world is pressuring Hamas to accept the conditions we set with Trump to return all the prisoners,” confirming, “We will oppose the establishment of a Palestinian state because it would be a reward for terrorism.”
On Monday, Netanyahu emphasized that the Palestinian Authority will have no role in the Gaza Strip without a radical change.
During a joint press conference with Trump, Netanyahu confirmed that “there will be a civil and peaceful administration in Gaza that will be led neither by Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority.”
Trump addressed the Palestinian Authority, saying: “Regarding the Palestinian Authority, I appreciate your firm stance that it will have no role in Gaza without a real, radical, and genuine transformation.”
