The Public Prosecution in Minya, under the supervision of Counselor Mohamed Abu Krisha, summoned Um Hashem – A, wife of Nasser Mohamed and mother of the six deceased children, following the confession of the second wife to the poisoning incident. The mother was released from the psychiatric hospital in Abbasia to complete investigations and provide testimony after the accused’s confession.

A judicial source in Minya confirmed that forensic reports and chemical lab analyses established that the cause of death was poisoning by a highly toxic pesticide called ‘Chlorfenapyr,’ which disrupts the body’s thermal regulation and causes vital organ failure leading to death. Traces were found in samples taken from the victims’ bodies.

A prosecution team accompanied by toxicology experts inspected the father’s residence with his children at the first wife’s home and the second wife’s home. The inspection and tests on food containers and bread remnants revealed the presence of the toxic pesticide. Its traces were also found on cooking and bread-making equipment in the second wife’s home. The prosecution requested police investigations, which revealed that the second wife committed the crime.

Upon interrogation, the accused ‘H – A,’ the second wife and from the victim’s family, admitted to preparing some loaves of bread and placing pesticide inside some of them, then sending them to the first wife’s home where the father and children lived. The children sequentially showed symptoms of poisoning until deaths occurred. She denied intent to kill but admitted mixing the pesticide with bread as an act against the first wife. She was detained for four days pending investigations, which continue.
