The price of dates per kilo in New Valley has reached an unprecedented 52 Egyptian pounds, as farmers prepare to start the harvest season in mid-September. The governorate recorded over 2 million productive palm trees, with expected production reaching 165,000 tons. The government date complex finalized preparations to expand date exports through contracts with several countries, targeting European and Arab markets. Intensive training programs were conducted for farmers to improve date quality and reduce losses. Advanced production units for packaging and storage were also established to support the season and ease farmers’ burdens.
