Iranian President Masoud Bazeshkian stated that he personally removed all obstacles and barriers to expanding cooperation with Moscow and implementing all agreements.

During his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, Bazeshkian said, “I personally took charge of overseeing the implementation of all agreements signed between our two countries and will do my utmost to remove all obstacles along this path.”

The Iranian president also noted that the entry into force of the comprehensive strategic partnership treaty between Russia and Iran will strengthen Tehran-Moscow relations.

He said, “I fully agree with you that the enforcement of our foundational treaty will help grow trade exchange between the two countries, as well as expand our relations in all fields. This document was recently ratified by the Iranian parliament.”

Bazeshkian added, “Of course, the agreement between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union on free trade is a new impetus to develop our relations, and we welcome it.”

It is worth noting that the comprehensive strategic partnership treaty between Russia and Iran was signed on January 17, 2025, during Bazeshkian’s visit to Moscow. According to the document, both parties seek to deepen and expand relations in all areas of mutual interest.

Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Tianjin, China, including with Iranian President Masoud Bazeshkian.

The largest summit in the organization’s history is being held in Tianjin, China, from August 31 to September 1, with the participation of more than 20 foreign leaders, in addition to representatives of international organizations. Russian President Vladimir Putin participated in the summit and held a series of bilateral meetings on its sidelines.
