On Friday, the leaders of Britain, France, and Germany called on the United Nations Security Council to give its “full support” to the US peace plan for the Gaza Strip.

The three countries said in a joint statement, “We agree that the Security Council must give its full support to the plan and express its endorsement of its implementation,” praising “President (Donald) Trump’s leadership on this issue and the diplomatic efforts of mediators” Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey.

US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday night that an agreement had been reached to implement the first phase of his plan to achieve peace in the Middle East, which includes ending the war in Gaza, Israeli withdrawal, entry of humanitarian aid, and prisoner exchanges.

Since October 7, 2023, Israeli occupation forces have committed acts of genocide in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of more than 67,000 Palestinians and injuries to around 170,000 others, most of them children and women, with famine claiming the lives of 460 Palestinians including 154 children.
