MP Fathi Desouky, member of the Egyptian Senate, stated that Egypt’s success in reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza confirmed to the world that it remains the cornerstone of security and stability in the Middle East. He emphasized that this achievement is a victory for Egyptian diplomacy and the steadfast vision of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in achieving peace.

Desouky explained that the scenes of joy in Gaza after the announcement of the agreement were the clearest evidence of the sincerity of Egypt’s efforts. He affirmed that Egypt acted out of pure humanitarian motives from day one, refusing to stand as a bystander to the suffering of the Palestinian people, and courageously initiated communication with all active parties to stop the bloodshed.

The MP pointed out that Egypt’s moves proved that Cairo is not seeking a role but is actively creating one, and that the mediation led by President El-Sisi restored the concept of conscious Arab leadership capable of balancing strength and mercy, politics and principle.

Desouky confirmed that the Palestinians’ celebrations raising Egyptian flags and pictures of President El-Sisi are the truest tribute to an Arab leader who restored hope to a people exhausted by siege and war. He noted that this achievement will remain a shining mark in modern Egypt’s record and evidence that peace is the greatest gift wise leadership can offer its people and the entire region.
