MP Ihab Wahba, head of the parliamentary body of the Republican People’s Party in the Senate, praised the depth and strength of Egyptian-Saudi relations, affirming that they represent a unique model of Arab cooperation based on brotherhood and shared destiny, and that what unites Cairo and Riyadh goes beyond bilateral interests to express a unified vision towards Arab nation issues.
Wahba stated that relations between the two countries are based on solid foundations of mutual respect and continuous coordination in various political, economic, and developmental fields, pointing out that Egypt and Saudi Arabia represent two main pillars for the stability of the Arab region due to their political and regional weight.
He confirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been and remains at the forefront of supporters of Egypt in all historical positions, explaining that its stance during the October 1973 war and its historic decision to use oil as a weapon in support of the Arab position marked a turning point in the course of the battle and affirmed Arab unity in facing challenges.
He added that the Kingdom’s support continued in later stages, especially during the difficult economic periods Egypt went through, reflecting the depth of brotherly relations between the two peoples and the Saudi leadership’s keenness on Egypt’s stability and prosperity.
The head of the parliamentary body of the Republican People’s Party pointed out that economic relations between the two countries are witnessing a significant boom, with Saudi Arabia being one of Egypt’s largest trading partners in the Arab region. Saudi investments hold a prominent place in the Egyptian market, covering sectors such as industry, agriculture, real estate, energy, and tourism, contributing to supporting the national economy and providing new job opportunities for youth. He emphasized that Egyptian-Saudi relations represent the cornerstone of the Arab national security system, and continuous coordination between the leadership of the two countries strengthens Arab unity in facing regional and international crises, stressing that the Egyptian-Saudi partnership will remain a main guarantee for regional stability and support for development and joint Arab integration.
