Surveillance cameras captured the moment of a violent Israeli strike on a heavy machinery maintenance hangar in Ansariyeh, southern Lebanon, on Wednesday evening, resulting in 10 people injured. The total number of casualties from Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon reached 5 dead.

According to available information, Israel conducted about 15 airstrikes on southern Lebanon, targeting several towns including Aitaroun, Houla, Sadna area, Shebaa, Kfar Shuba outskirts, Yater, Zarariyeh outskirts, Taybeh, between Adloun and Ansariyeh, and Tayr Harfa.

These strikes followed the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) announcement that Israeli drones dropped four bombs near its personnel in an attack described as “one of the most serious” against its forces since the ceasefire in November. The Israeli army stated the shooting was “unintentional.”

UNIFIL confirmed that the bombs were dropped near peacekeepers while they were removing roadblocks obstructing access to a UN site near the border with Israel, and that this attack constitutes a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and international law.

The Lebanese government is scheduled to hold a session on Friday to discuss the arms control plan assigned to the army in August.
