Benghazi, August 19, 2025 (WAL) – This morning, the training course on the middle childhood stage began at the Child Creativity Center hall in Benghazi, as part of Project 166 aimed at developing and qualifying youth and women in various Libyan cities.
This course is a continuation of a series of training programs targeting the psychological and behavioral growth stages of children, which previously started with early childhood.
In a statement to the Libyan News Agency, Dr. Enas Bin Salim, head of the psychological clinic and social office at the Pediatric Surgery and Medicine Hospital in Benghazi, explained that the course focuses on the challenges faced by children during the middle childhood stage, which involves their transition from the family environment to the broader community, making them more sensitive to shocks and changes affecting their behavior and psychological growth.
Dr. Bin Salim emphasized the importance of providing simplified scientific content aimed at parents and teachers to raise their awareness of proper educational and psychological approaches to children at this stage. She pointed out that the course presented practical recommendations for addressing psychological and behavioral disorders to support children and prepare them for positive integration into society.
She added that the training program will continue in the coming period, with the next course dedicated to adolescence and its accompanying psychological and behavioral transformations, affirming that Project 166 prioritizes raising community awareness about the importance of mental health for children and adolescents.
Project 166 for training and development is a national initiative launched in June 2025, in partnership between the Libyan Relief and Humanitarian Aid Authority, the Libyan News Agency, and the Libyan Child Bank Foundation. It aims to train about 5000 young men and women across various Libyan cities through implementing 166 training courses covering diverse fields that contribute to their empowerment and qualification for the labor market.
