The first annual cardiology forum and the latest updates in heart diseases kicked off this morning at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Aleppo, held in the large medical lecture hall, with participation from a distinguished group of professors and specialists in the medical field.

The forum saw wide attendance including doctors and professors from the Faculty of Medicine and Aleppo University Hospital, alongside medical staff from higher education institutions and hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health, as well as clinical stage medical students.

The sessions focused on presenting and discussing the latest global scientific recommendations in the diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases, aiming to enhance knowledge exchange between medical and academic staff and link scientific expertise with practical application in the medical field.

The forum director, Mohammad Rasheed, told SANA’s correspondent that the forum discussed the latest scientific updates related to heart diseases, with participation from specialized professors, postgraduate students, and clinical medical students. He pointed out that the scientific program included more than six lectures covering the main cardiac problems and the latest therapeutic developments.

Resident doctor Diaa Jaber expressed the importance of this event, saying: “We continuously need such scientific forums to keep up with the latest medical developments, especially under the supervision of highly qualified professors and experts. These meetings contribute to fostering passion for research, learning, and developing the skills of young doctors.”

The organization of the forum comes within the vision of the University of Aleppo and the Faculty of Medicine to develop the educational and medical process and enhance the efficiency of health cadres, contributing to improving medical services in Syria to meet modern global standards.
