Pakistan announced the launch of the first flights between the city of Quetta in Pakistan and the Iranian cities of Zahedan and Mashhad. According to Geo News Pakistan, one flight will operate weekly between these cities in Iran and Pakistan. Pakistani Ambassador to Tehran, Muhammad Mudassir, praised the new route, stating that Iranian airlines have started their first direct flights between Quetta, Zahedan, and Mashhad, marking the first regular commercial air service between these historic cities. In a statement, the Pakistani ambassador welcomed the launch of the flights, saying it has been a long-standing demand of the peoples of the region. Mudassir added, “I am very pleased that Iranian airlines have started direct flights between Quetta, Zahedan, and Mashhad, linking three historic cities with great potential.
These new operations will boost business, tourism, and relations between the two peoples.” He also noted, “Given our geographic depth and economic needs, we will continue to expand air connectivity between Pakistan and Iran.”
