Minister of Economy and Industry Nidal Al-Shaar met today at the ministry building with a group of Syrian investors and academics residing in China to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the government and the private sector, and to benefit from the expertise of national competencies abroad to support the national economy.

The meeting addressed ways to utilize academic and research expertise to support development projects and advance industry, trade, and investment sectors, within efforts aimed at strengthening communication with Syrian competencies abroad and supporting their role in the economic development process.

Minister Al-Shaar emphasized the importance of the contribution of Syrian expatriate businessmen and industrialists in supporting the national economy, noting that the ministry is keen to provide a suitable environment to attract investments and strengthen partnerships with various sectors.

For their part, the Syrian investors and academics expressed their readiness to contribute their expertise and capabilities to projects that serve the national economy and add value to development in Syria.

The Ministry of Economy and Industry and government bodies continue to work on enhancing the investment environment in Syria, developing partnerships with the private sector, encouraging the participation of Syrian businessmen to support the national economy, and strengthening communication with those abroad to facilitate their return and benefit from their expertise, contributing to driving economic development and rebuilding the new Syria.
