Dr. Khaled Zayed, head of the Red Crescent branch in North Sinai, revealed the scale of the humanitarian effort exerted by the Egyptian teams, confirming that work has been ongoing for more than 730 days since October 7, with the participation of 200 volunteers working day and night to aid the Gaza Strip.
He stated during remarks on the program “Al-Soura” with journalist Lamis El Hadidi on Al-Nahar TV that on Sunday, more than 400 trucks entered the Gaza Strip, carrying a total of 9,000 tons of food and medical supplies, emphasizing that 90% of these are purely Egyptian.
He attributed the organized effort to the formation of a “Central Crisis Management” since October 7 through the Cabinet and the Red Crescent.
He explained that this effort has translated into more than 700,000 continuous working hours by 200 volunteers, most of whom are women, to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
He confirmed that Gaza needs all relief supplies, foremost among them tents to protect residents from the upcoming winter cold, noting the entry of a large number of fuel trucks with an increase in their frequency in the coming days.
He also confirmed the readiness of psychological support teams to receive the injured and their families at the Rafah crossing and accompany them to hospitals, pointing out the continued care provided to the wounded receiving treatment in Sinai to this day, and offering all forms of support to the brothers on all levels.
