Asmaa Al-Marzouqi, a nutrition specialist at the South Wakra Health Center affiliated with the Primary Health Care Corporation, stated that physical fitness is one of the most prominent benefits of sports activity. It is a comprehensive health condition that reflects the body’s ability to perform daily tasks efficiently without excessive fatigue, while maintaining muscle strength, flexibility, balance, cardiovascular and lung efficiency, and the health of joints and bones.
She points out that this condition not only gives a person a feeling of vitality but also protects them from chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart diseases, and high blood pressure, and reduces the risk of muscular and joint injuries, especially with aging. She highlighted additional benefits of exercising in summer, including boosting vitamin D levels in the body, which is essential for bone and dental health and helps absorb calcium and phosphorus. Moderate exposure to sunlight for twenty minutes daily during mild weather is one of the best sources of this vitamin, whose deficiency is linked to an increased likelihood of depression and mood swings.
