MP Magdy El-Berry, member of the Senate and Assistant Secretary of the Central Organization Secretariat of the Future of Homeland Party, stated that the scene of raising the Egyptian flag by displaced people in Gaza was not just a fleeting moment but a deep expression of popular gratitude and psychological and moral support for Egypt, which has never abandoned its national and humanitarian role in supporting the Palestinian people.
El-Berry affirmed in a statement that this moving scene clearly reflects Egypt’s position in the consciousness of Arab peoples and confirms that Palestinians know well who stands by them in times of hardship. He emphasized that the Egyptian moves since the outbreak of the crisis on October 7, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, were not aimed at political gain but stemmed from firm Egyptian principles and well-known ethical and humanitarian stances.
He added that Egypt’s positions regarding the Palestinian cause are not momentary but an extension of a historic role in which Egypt courageously and clearly bears responsibility through mediation in truce negotiations, opening crossings, and continuously dispatching relief convoys despite challenges and obstacles.
The MP pointed out that the whole world witnessed scenes of love and appreciation for Egypt in Gaza, manifested by raising the Egyptian flag amid suffering, embodying the highest meanings of brotherhood and national responsibility, and confirming that Egypt will remain the safe haven for its nation’s causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause.
El-Berry stressed that Egyptian diplomacy, based on principles and constants, has proven to be more effective and credible than any smear campaigns or exaggerations, noting that what Egypt builds in terms of trust bridges with Arab peoples is a strategic asset that enhances its position as a wise and responsible power in its regional environment.
He confirmed that the return of displaced Palestinians to their areas is a victory for humanity and for Egypt’s ongoing efforts, sending a new message that Egypt, led by President El-Sisi, has been and will remain the beating heart of Arabism and a source of hope in the darkest circumstances.
He pointed out that what President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is doing today is not merely a political stance but reflects the conscience of the nation and embodies the balanced Egyptian vision based on supporting a just and comprehensive peace and establishing an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
El-Berry concluded his statement by affirming that the Egyptian people take pride in their state’s heroic and humanitarian efforts in supporting the Palestinian brothers, and that when the Egyptian flag is raised in a humanitarian scene amid rubble and suffering, it carries a strong message to the world that peace is not built by silence but by action, will, and initiative.
