Government Communication Minister and official government spokesperson Mohammad Al-Momani affirmed on Wednesday that the West Bank lands are occupied under international law and legitimacy.

Al-Momani said during his interview on the “Al-Ashira” program broadcast on Al-Mamlaka TV that any decisions undermining this are contrary to the system of justice and clash with the interests of countries surrounding Israel and those that have signed peace agreements with it.

Regarding Israel’s announcement of its intention to annex the West Bank, Al-Momani said that if Israel dares to take such a decision, it will not eliminate the Palestinian people or push them out of their lands, and the Israeli proposal cannot be realized.

He added that Israel must realize that granting the Palestinian people their rights will bring peace.

He pointed out that the way some extremist Israeli ministers deal with the conflict on a religious basis means that we are facing a new and dangerous phase where religion is employed to serve politics, and in this case, there will be reactions from other religious and political forces, which will fuel feelings of hatred among peoples and deepen cultural and religious divides.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the storming of the occupied Palestinian territories by the extremist Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, his hostile and racist statements about annexing the occupied West Bank and preventing the establishment of a Palestinian state, and his threats to the Palestinian National Authority, considering it a blatant violation of international law, a serious escalation that is rejected, and a challenge to the international will supporting the two-state solution, emphasizing that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian land.
