Statistics released by the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications reveal that the land and public transport sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain continue to achieve remarkable growth rates, reflecting the development of the transportation system and the ministry’s efforts to enhance sustainable and integrated transport services.

The figures showed that the total number of public transport trips during September 2025 reached 995,762 trips, with a daily average of 33,192 trips. Since February 2015 until the end of September 2025, the total number of trips exceeded 110 million, confirming the increasing demand for public transport as a practical, safe, and environmentally friendly option.

Regarding land transport, statistics indicated that 12 inspection campaigns were conducted during September, while the number of operational cards issued and renewed reached 3,440 cards, along with the renewal of 34 licenses and the issuance of 8 new licenses. This reflects the ministry’s ongoing efforts to regulate the sector and ensure operators comply with approved operational and professional standards.

Bahrain’s public bus network is considered one of the fundamental pillars of the kingdom’s land transport system, providing an economical, reliable, and environmentally friendly means of transportation for residents and visitors alike. The network is operated by Bahrain Public Transport Company under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications and has witnessed significant growth to meet the needs of a modern and growing community.

The network currently includes more than 600 dedicated bus stops, 26 carefully planned routes covering major cities and residential areas, in addition to 140 modern air-conditioned buses operating daily, alongside daily services with regular schedules and real-time updates through the official app and website.
