During the first eight months of this year, the Kingdom of Morocco received about 11.6 thousand tons of Russian feed, making it one of the prominent export destinations at this level after Belarus, which imported 61 thousand tons, according to recent data from the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor).
According to the same source, since January until September 1st, the Russian authority supervised the inspection of more than 3,800 shipments prepared for export in the regions of Voronezh, Belgorod, and Lipetsk, totaling approximately 110 thousand tons. These shipments included feed products, dairy, processed meats, as well as over 20 thousand live pigs, most of which were exported to Georgia.
Rosselkhoznadzor stated that its experts ensured the products met the safety requirements imposed by importing countries before issuing export licenses. All shipments underwent laboratory tests at the Belgorod laboratory affiliated with the Federal Research Institute for Animal Health. Inspectors also supervised the transport vehicles and the products inside them, including compliance with veterinary and health standards, temperature control, and packaging safety checks.
The source added that for many years, feed, feed additives, and dairy products have formed the largest share of exports from the Voronezh region; the same trend continues this year. During the mentioned period, more than 93.4 thousand tons of feed products were exported, with Belarus and Morocco being the main destinations. Dairy products were most in demand in Southeast Asian countries, with a total of 8.8 thousand tons exported to China, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and others.
Additionally, data indicated exports of more than 5.4 thousand tons of meat and secondary animal products, about 2 thousand tons of processed meat products (sausages), around 4 tons of fish products, and over 360 tons of down and feather mixtures to several countries including China. The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance confirmed that more than 80 licensed exporting companies are registered in the electronic exporter registry of the Voronezh region, exporting their products to more than 27 countries.
