Brazilian opposition lawmakers ended their occupation of the parliament headquarters in Brasilia after two days of protest against the house arrest of former President Jair Bolsonaro. Opposition leader Rogério Marinho announced the end of the protest in the Senate to allow normal parliamentary work to resume. The opposition also submitted a motion to impeach Federal Judge Alexandre de Moraes, who has angered the political right, although the chances of success are slim due to voting requirements. Bolsonaro is under investigation for his role in an attempted coup following the 2022 elections.
