The Cairo Criminal Court decided to refer a young man who killed his father during prayer to a committee of psychiatrists and postponed the case to the third session of October.
The Cairo Public Prosecution referred the accused, “Islam E.”, for criminal trial on charges of killing his father with multiple stab wounds during prayer, after the father advised him to quit drug use.
The prosecution in case number 3957 of 2024, Khalifa Criminal Court, stated that the accused “Islam E.” intentionally and premeditatedly killed his father “E. E.” due to his resentment over his father’s advice to stop using drugs.

The investigations added that the accused continued stabbing his father until he saw his intestines protruding outside his body, confirming the certainty of killing him, until the victim lost strength, breathed his last, and died.
