The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs praised the noble contents of the speech delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the esteemed King of Bahrain, may God protect and preserve him, at the emergency Arab Islamic Summit held in Doha, Qatar, to discuss the heinous Israeli attack on the brotherly Qatari lands.
The Council emphasized the necessity of taking firm stances to preserve and respect the sovereignty, security, and stability of states, rejecting the use or threat of force, and working seriously to achieve a comprehensive and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, stopping forced displacement plans, settlement expansion, and violations of the historical and religious status quo in Jerusalem. It stressed the need to protect civilians and innocents and ensure urgent and sustainable humanitarian aid access.
In its 30th regular session of the fifth cycle held on Tuesday morning under the chairmanship of Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, the Council reaffirmed Bahrain’s firm stance on the necessity of adhering to peaceful solutions as a fundamental and steadfast approach for the future of the region, the world, and generations to come.
The Council also expressed its happiness at the broad and successive international recognitions of the State of Palestine by the majority of United Nations member states, praising the diligent efforts exerted by the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in this regard in partnership with the French Republic, while welcoming the UN General Assembly’s decision to adopt the “New York Declaration” on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue.
Subsequently, the Council reviewed the agenda topics, starting with the Secretariat’s memorandum regarding the President’s participation in the 8th Conference of Global and Traditional Religious Leaders held on September 17-18 in Astana, the capital of friendly Kazakhstan, under the theme “Interfaith Dialogue: Solidarity for Peace,” attended by His Excellency Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and high-level delegations from over 60 countries worldwide. The Council reviewed the final outcomes and the Astana Peace Declaration 2025 issued by the conference.
The Council then approved the results of the second batch of graduates from the Diploma Program for Quran Teachers at the Institute of Readings and Preparation of Quran Teachers affiliated with the Council, totaling 59 male and female students, expressing sincere congratulations to the graduates, their families, and the institute’s administrative and educational bodies.
On this occasion, the Council affirmed that the completion of this number of Quran teachers as part of this pioneering scientific program is one of the fruits of the Institute of Readings established by His Majesty the King, may God protect and preserve him. The Council expressed its sincere appreciation and gratitude to His Majesty for his continuous support for all matters serving the Holy Quran and the true religion, valuing the support of the esteemed government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him.
The Council also took note of the preparations for the graduation ceremony of this batch, scheduled for Wednesday morning, in the presence of Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.
Additionally, the Council reviewed another memorandum from the Secretariat about its participation in the 10th International Conference of the General Secretariat of Fatwa Bodies and Islamic Research Institutions held on August 12-13 in Cairo, under the title “The Making of the Right Mufti in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of the brotherly Arab Republic of Egypt. The Council took note of the conference results and its final statement.
The Council concluded its session by reviewing incoming reports, letters, and requests and took the necessary actions.
