The Alexandria Health Directorate organized two medical convoys in the Borg El Arab and Al Amiriya medical areas during October at Banjar 1 and Iraq Village units.

Dr. Mohamed Badran, Deputy Minister of Health in Alexandria, said the first convoy included six medical specialties (Internal Medicine – Pediatrics – Gynecology – Surgery – Dermatology – Family Planning) with the participation of 40 members of the medical team and their assistants from the Alexandria Health Directorate and its affiliated units, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, technicians, administrators, and workers.

The second convoy included six medical specialties (Internal Medicine – Pediatrics – Gynecology – Surgery – Dermatology – Dentistry – Family Planning) and involved 29 members of the medical team and their assistants from the Alexandria Health Directorate and its affiliated units, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, technicians, administrators, and workers.

He pointed out that during the two convoys, medical examinations were conducted on 1,357 patients from the two areas, and treatment was provided completely free of charge. Additionally, 17 cases were referred to the directorate’s hospitals to complete tests or undergo other interventions, with treatment decisions issued at the state’s expense.

Dr. Rasha Jibril, the coordinator of the medical convoys, added that during the two convoys, 348 blood tests and 302 parasitology tests were conducted, in addition to screening 192 patient companions for early detection of blood pressure and diabetes. The convoys also provided health education to 642 citizens from the two areas on various health topics.
