The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, confirmed that the Kremlin views Donald Trump solely as the President of the United States of America, without attributing any additional personal traits to this role.

Peskov made this statement during an interview with the Russian news agency TASS on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum, in response to a question about whether Trump is considered a partner for Russia. He replied, “Trump for us is the President of the United States of America,” limiting the definition to this without further description.

The Kremlin spokesman noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin “highly values President Trump’s efforts,” pointing to “the constructive nature of their relationship.”

On the other hand, Peskov described the talks between Presidents Putin and Trump as “difficult,” explaining that “each defends the interests of his country.” Nevertheless, he noted that President Putin “highly appreciates this and is grateful to Trump for it.”

It is worth mentioning that the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, discussed ways to resolve the Ukrainian conflict during their meeting in Alaska on August 15. The two leaders described the meeting positively. At the conclusion of the summit, the Russian president announced the possibility of reaching an end to the conflict in Ukraine, affirming that Russia is interested in a long-lasting peace.
