The Kremlin said on Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not conspiring with Chinese President Xi Jinping and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un against the United States, noting that U.S. President Donald Trump’s criticism was likely sarcastic.

Trump said on Tuesday that he felt “very disappointed” with Putin, hinting in a post on Truth Social that Xi, Putin, and Kim were conspiring against the U.S. Yuri Ushakov, Kremlin foreign policy advisor, said Trump was probably making sarcastic remarks in response to a question from Russian state television about Trump’s statements.

Ushakov said, “I want to confirm that there is no conspiracy, no one is conspiring against anyone, and there are no conspiracies at all. This idea never crossed the minds of the three leaders.” He added, “I can say that everyone understands the role played by the United States, the current Trump administration, and Trump himself in the current international situation.”

Xi warned that the world faces a choice between peace or war during a massive military parade in Beijing today attended by Putin and Kim, which was an unprecedented show of force.
