The Kremlin confirmed yesterday that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not conspiring with his counterparts, Chinese leader Xi Jinping and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, against the United States, suggesting that US President Donald Trump’s criticism might have been sarcastic.
Trump said the day before yesterday that he “felt very disappointed” with Putin, hinting in a post on the “Truth Social” platform that Xi, Putin, and Kim are conspiring against the United States.
Kremlin foreign policy advisor Yuri Ushakov said Trump might have been making sarcastic remarks, responding to a question from Russian state television about Trump’s statements.
Ushakov added, “I would like to confirm that there is no conspiracy, no one has conspired against any party, and there are no conspiracies at all; this idea never crossed the minds of the three leaders.” He continued, “I can say that everyone understands the role played by the United States and the current administration of President Trump, and Trump himself, in the current international situation.”
Xi confirmed that the world faces two choices: peace or war, during a massive military parade in Beijing yesterday, attended by Putin and Kim. It was an unprecedented show of force, largely avoided by Western leaders, held on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Japan’s defeat at the end of World War II, while Putin and Kim attended as guests of honor.
