Persian-speaking media announced that the Iranian judiciary executed the death sentence this Monday morning against citizen “Bahman Choobi Asl” on charges of collaborating with the Israeli occupation, marking the second such case in two weeks.
The Iranian judiciary’s media center stated that the execution followed the completion of legal procedures, noting that the accused was a company director promoted due to his expertise. He cooperated in the field of databases with the Israeli Mossad and had high-level access to vital and sovereign databases within the country.
According to the statement, “Choobi Asl” was recruited by Mossad during his participation in a specialized training course after obtaining his database specialization certificate.
It added that later, an officer from the agency contacted him through a fake company named “ESMI,” conducted a phone interview, and invited him to carry out database projects for the agency.
The convicted man admitted in his confessions that his tasks included meeting the enemy’s needs in several areas, including providing access to data center systems for various entities, communicating with companies specializing in electronic equipment and databases, engaging in sensitive projects and strategic infrastructure, and contacting prominent figures experienced in databases and Oracle systems.
The judiciary’s media center confirmed that Mossad’s main goal in recruiting the convicted was to obtain sovereign entity databases and breach Iranian data centers, alongside other objectives such as tracking the import path of electronic equipment.
The statement noted that the spy received financial payments for the information he provided to Mossad, covering travel and accommodation expenses abroad, language courses, specialized training, mission allowances, and financial incentives for his cooperation.
Since the Israeli war in June, Iran has witnessed a noticeable increase in executions of those convicted of spying and working for Mossad in recent years.
During the war, Israeli agents intensified their activities inside the country by launching large numbers of small drones targeting military sites and air defense systems.
