The second round of the Amman Arab Youth Capital 2025 five-a-side football championship for the Aqaba governorate, organized by the Ministry of Youth across all Jordanian governorates, has concluded.

The tournament included 33 teams distributed across Al-Qasbah and Al-Qweirah districts, with 396 players from the governorate participating in a total of 32 matches during the first and second rounds.

The second round results crowned the Aqaba team as the governorate champion after defeating the Al-Baladiyah Al-Qweirah team 4-3 in a penalty shootout.

During the award ceremony, Aqaba’s Deputy Governor Jibril Abu Shriteh praised the Ministry of Youth for its continuous efforts through diverse and ongoing sports and training programs to support and encourage young talents in various sports fields, highlighting the role of such tournaments in fostering a spirit of belonging and constructive cooperation.

Meanwhile, Aqaba Youth Director Al-Hassan confirmed that the main goal of the tournament is to showcase outstanding sportsmanship and competitiveness, promote values of cooperation and fair competition among players, activate sports movement, enhance sports culture, create a positive competitive atmosphere, and improve participants’ physical fitness. He also commended the participating teams for adhering to the tournament’s rules and regulations.

The tournament concluded with awarding the winning teams medals and trophies. Al-Hassan expressed his gratitude to the tournament officials, referees, security agencies, the tournament operations room, and all entities that contributed to its success.
