China organized a massive military parade at Tiananmen Square in central Beijing, the largest in the country’s history, to mark the 80th anniversary of victory in World War II and the defeat of Japan, attended by leaders and heads of state.

The Victory Day parade began with a flyover squadron protecting flags above Tiananmen Square.

The movements of the military units participating in the parade started after Chinese Central Military Commission Chairman Xi Jinping inspected the troops.

The parade featured formations from the People’s Liberation Army’s ground, naval, and air forces, while military aircraft flew over the capital carrying banners with the number 80, symbolizing the 80th anniversary of victory in the war against Japanese aggression. Heavy military equipment was lined up on Chang’an Avenue in preparation for the parade.

A squadron of aircraft flew overhead carrying flags of the Chinese Communist Party, the People’s Republic of China, and the People’s Liberation Army.

This was followed by another air squadron composed of 26 helicopters forming the numbers 8 and 0, symbolizing the 80th anniversary of victory.

Three helicopters flew carrying banners with the phrases “Victory for Justice,” “Victory for Peace,” and “Victory for the People,” each separately.

The grand military parade took place on September 3 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Chinese people’s victory in the war against Japan and the global fight against fascism, with participation from Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and leaders from 24 other countries.
