The world is awaiting Hamas’s response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to end the war in Gaza, after receiving it from Qatari and Egyptian mediators on Monday.
The Qatari and Egyptian mediators met with Hamas representatives and handed them President Trump’s plan to end the Gaza war.
According to sources cited by AFP on Monday, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Egyptian General Intelligence Director Mahmoud Rashad “met with Hamas negotiators and handed them the 20-point plan. Hamas negotiators said they would study the plan in good faith and respond to it.”
President Trump said Netanyahu would have “his full support” in the Gaza war if Hamas rejected the peace plan.
During a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, Trump added that Israel would have “his full support” to eliminate Hamas if they rejected his 20-point peace plan.
The conference did not specify a timeline for receiving Hamas’s response.
