Tripoli, 30 September 2025 (WAL) – Horia Al-Tarmal, Minister of State for Women’s Affairs in the Government of National Unity, met with Ingeborg Ulrika Ulfsdottir Richardson, Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Libya.
During the meeting held on Monday at the Prime Minister’s office, Al-Tarmal emphasized the ministry’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the UN mission and its various programs, enhancing the role of Libyan women in development, capacity building, and enabling them to actively contribute to decision-making.
The discussion also touched on the importance of supporting Libyan women’s issues and enhancing partnership with the UN in protection and equal opportunity fields, in line with the state’s priorities and societal needs.
For her part, Richardson affirmed the UN’s commitment to supporting women’s empowerment programs and continuing joint efforts to strengthen their presence and status in Libyan society.
