In the West Bank, two protest rallies were held rejecting extermination and supporting Palestinian prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons, with slogans expressing anger and solidarity with prisoner Marwan Barghouti. Another rally in Tubas was organized by prisoners’ institutions and the Fatah movement, raising Barghouti’s images to show support. These protests followed the extremist Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s raid on the solitary confinement section in Ramon Prison where Barghouti is held, considered a clear provocation amid his poor health conditions. Since Ben-Gvir took office, Palestinian prisoners’ conditions have deteriorated significantly, with reports showing major weight loss due to harsh policies. According to the Palestinian Prisoners Club, about 10,800 Palestinian prisoners are held in Israeli jails, including 49 female prisoners and 450 children, reflecting the extent of their suffering.
Amid the Israeli aggression on Gaza, more than 1,015 Palestinians were killed in the West Bank and around 7,000 injured, with over 18,500 Palestinians arrested, highlighting the violations by occupation forces. The genocide in Gaza has continued since October 7, 2023, with over 61,944 Palestinians killed, raising international concern and urgent calls for intervention to stop these violations.
