Al Arabiya correspondent reported the start of bus movements, accompanied by Red Cross personnel, to transfer Palestinian prisoners previously held by Israel, as part of the implementation of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement. Meanwhile, Israeli reports estimate that the handover of Israeli prisoners will take place at 8 a.m. on Monday.

Israel will release 250 Palestinian prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment, in addition to about 1,700 detainees from Gaza who have been held since the outbreak of the war.

The Al Arabiya correspondent stated that the Israeli government approved, via a phone vote, changes to the list of released Palestinian prisoners.

Two security prisoners were replaced in the approved list: one was found to have been previously released, and the other belonged to the Fatah movement, replaced by two security prisoners affiliated with Hamas who are not serving life sentences.

Additionally, seven Gaza minors were removed from the list of 22, along with two Gazan women, and a group of Gazans were replaced with others according to security service considerations. Thus, the total number of Gazans to be released is 1,718 instead of 1,722.

Hamas is expected to release Israeli prisoners early Monday morning, handing over 48 prisoners still in Gaza, both alive and deceased, who were captured during the October 7 attack, including 20 who are alive.

Israeli officials indicated that not all prisoner bodies might be returned on Monday and that searching for them could take longer. The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the establishment of an “international body” to locate the remains of prisoners whose bodies will not be returned as part of the exchange on Monday.

The live Israeli prisoners will be transferred immediately upon receipt to the Re’im base, where identity verification and quick medical examinations will be conducted before transferring them to hospitals.

In a related context, diplomatic sources mentioned that the US, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey will sign a guarantees document for the Gaza ceasefire agreement during the Sharm El Sheikh summit.

Delegations have begun arriving in Sharm El Sheikh to attend the summit, including British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The summit, chaired by US President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, is scheduled to start at noon on Monday.
