Egyptian newspapers published this Monday morning covered several important issues, foremost among them: a historic global summit taking place today on Egyptian soil.
The printed edition of Youm7 newspaper, issued tomorrow morning, covers key files and news reports, most notably the launch of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit chaired by Presidents Sisi and Trump, alongside a presidential decree appointing 100 members to the “Senate”.
The list of participants includes world leaders such as Macron, Starmer, King Abdullah II, Erdogan, Guterres, the German Chancellor, the President of the European Council, and Giorgia Meloni.
President Sisi, during the opening of Cairo Water Week, affirmed that the Nile River is a shared heritage and that Egypt will not stand idly by Ethiopia’s approach.
A presidential decree was issued appointing 100 members to the “Senate”, with presidential support for natural gas exploration projects. The President received ExxonMobil’s Vice President for Exploration Affairs and emphasized Egypt’s keenness to overcome obstacles and facilitate procedures to accelerate projects.
The President also followed up with Apache on the exploratory status of new areas and discussed plans to expand oil and gas production. Apache’s CEO expressed optimism about increasing production with opportunities for new discoveries.
The Minister of Supply announced the provision of a secure strategic reserve of essential goods to meet citizens’ needs.
The newspaper Al-Dustour, in its Monday issue, publishes special files and investigative reports covering important political, health, cultural, and sports issues, including comprehensive coverage of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit attended by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, US President Donald Trump, and world leaders to sign a historic agreement to consolidate the Gaza agreement and ceasefire after two years of war.
The British newspaper The Guardian stated that the summit hosted by Egypt today in Sharm El-Sheikh crowns mediation efforts led by Cairo in cooperation with Qatar and the United States, with the participation of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the prime ministers of Britain, Italy, Spain, and France.
International media outlets such as Channel News Asia and the American magazine The Week indicated that the summit represents a historic turning point towards establishing stability in the Middle East, while the Israeli newspaper Maariv confirmed that Egypt’s hosting of the summit reaffirms its pivotal role in restoring security and peace in the region.
