Sheikh Naeem Qassem, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, stated at the memorial ceremony of Sayyed Abbas Ali Al-Musawi that Lebanon’s problems cannot be solved without restoring national sovereignty, the withdrawal of Israel, reconstruction, and the release of prisoners. He emphasized that without the resistance, Israel would have reached Beirut as it did Damascus. He recalled the liberation of the border areas in the August 28, 2017 ‘Dawn of the Borderlands’ battle, a joint effort by the army and resistance against ISIS and takfiri groups, initiated by former President Michel Aoun. Sheikh Qassem stressed that all Lebanon’s problems stem from Israeli occupation and American support, and the solution lies in restoring sovereignty. He called on the government to hold intensive sessions to regain trust and urged intellectuals to assist in planning for sovereignty restoration.
He affirmed that resistance remains vital, opposing humiliation and surrender, and has deterred Israel for 17 years since 2006 with exceptional achievements.
