Syrian Foreign Minister, Asaad Al-Sheibani, confirmed that the U.S. Senate’s approval today of a provision to cancel the “Caesar” Act imposed on Syria represents a historic step that restores the first breaths to our homeland and opens a new path for reconstruction and recovery.
In a post on platform X, Minister Al-Sheibani said that over the past months, under the guidance of His Excellency President Ahmad Al-Sharrah and with the determination of his team at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they worked to lift one of the heaviest burdens that shackled the country economically and politically — the “Caesar” Act. He considered this step as restoring the dignity of the Syrian people and their right to development and building the future, in addition to reactivating state institutions to rise and prosper.
He added: “The work continues for the Syria we dream of, in loyalty to our righteous martyrs, the mothers of the missing, detainees, and orphans, and to every Syrian who suffered from the brutality of the Assad regime, from whose last shadows we are now freeing ourselves. He considered the cancellation of the sanctions law as the beginning of a new era of construction and revival based on dignity and justice.”
