The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, participated in the international Tourism EXPO Japan 2025 held in Nagoya, Japan, with wide participation from major travel organizers and tourism companies worldwide.

Engineer Ahmed Youssef, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Strategic Administration Affairs and Acting CEO of the Authority, explained that Egypt’s participation aims to strengthen its presence in the Japanese market, showcase the distinguished tourism experiences offered by the Egyptian destination to its visitors, and expand cooperation with major Japanese travel agencies to increase incoming tourism from this important market.

The Authority presented a distinctive pavilion designed as a Pharaonic temple, attracting visitors’ attention and sparking their passion for the ancient Egyptian civilization. The pavilion witnessed great attendance from exhibition visitors and media representatives.

During the exhibition days, Mohamed Younis, the Japanese market officer at the Authority’s General Department of Foreign Offices, held several professional meetings with representatives of major Japanese travel agencies to explore cooperation prospects and review the diverse tourism patterns enjoyed by the Egyptian destination that meet the interests of Japanese tourists, alongside the cultural tourism product which is very popular among them.

Mohamed Younis also met with representatives of the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), discussing the possibility of organizing an introductory visit for union members to Egypt, as well as holding a professional workshop bringing them together with their counterparts from the Egyptian tourism sector to promote Egyptian tourism programs in the Japanese market.

The Egyptian pavilion also organized interactive competitions about the Egyptian tourist destination, and EgyptAir held a raffle for free travel tickets to visit Egypt, which helped enhance attendance and increase interaction with the pavilion.

It is noteworthy that Tourism EXPO Japan is considered one of the largest tourism events in Asia and the world, gathering more than 1,000 local and international exhibitors and attracting about 110,000 visitors including specialists, media representatives, and the general public.
