Today, Wednesday, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani expressed his government’s appreciation for the role of the American energy company “HKN” in completing the recent agreement between the Iraqi government, the Kurdistan Regional Government, and foreign companies operating in the region to export oil from Kurdistan, Iraq, late last month through the Turkish port of Ceyhan.
During his reception of representatives from the American energy company “HKN,” Al-Sudani stated that the company worked to “facilitate the reopening of the Iraq-Turkey pipeline, considering it an important milestone in developing the energy sector, enhancing sovereignty, and fair management of wealth, ensuring that the Iraqi people benefit from their national resources,” according to a statement issued by the Iraqi government.
He added, “This achievement represents an important milestone for Iraq and all Iraqis.”
Al-Sudani welcomed “the investment partnership with the American company in Iraq, which is a positive indicator reflecting growing confidence in the investment environment in the country.”
He also pointed out that this partnership “comes as an extension of recent agreements signed with American companies in various sectors, contributing to strengthening bilateral economic relations between Iraq and the United States.”
