Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Sharm El-Sheikh to participate in the peace summit held today.
He was received by Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, before President Abbas proceeded to the summit venue, where President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is hosting the participants.
The Presidency had previously announced that both Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would participate in the peace summit to consolidate the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and reaffirm commitment to it.
The Presidency later stated: “President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call today from U.S. President Donald Trump while he was in Israel accompanied by the Israeli Prime Minister, who also spoke with the President. It was agreed that he would attend the peace summit in which Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will also participate.”
