The French presidency announced on Sunday evening the formation of a new government including well-known and new figures, aiming to spare France further political tension.
Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu stated that this government, in which the Foreign Ministry portfolio was reassigned to Jean-Noël Barrot and the Defense Ministry was given to the resigned government’s former Labor Minister Catherine Vautrin, “was formed so that France can have a budget before the end of the year.”
