The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the joint Russian-Pakistani exercises “Druzhba-2025” (Friendship-2025) were conducted in the Southern Military District, where the armed forces of both countries trained in counter-terrorism.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated in a release: “The joint Russian-Pakistani exercise ‘Druzhba 2025’ was held on the territory of the Southern Military District,” according to the Russian news agency Sputnik on Friday.

During the exercises, military personnel from the armed forces of both countries practiced joint operations of units to combat international terrorism.

The ministry noted that the exercises took place at one of the training grounds of the Russian Armed Forces in the Southern Military District.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, about 200 military personnel participated in the exercises, with the Russian side including special forces units from the Southern Military District experienced in counter-terrorism operations.

The joint Russian-Pakistani “Druzhba” exercises, aimed at strengthening and developing military cooperation between the two countries, have been held in both Russia and Pakistan since 2016.
