Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Kharif chaired a roundtable meeting in Düsseldorf, Germany, with major global industrial companies. He reviewed the unique investment opportunities in the transformative chemical industries and advanced manufacturing technologies in the Kingdom, inviting investors to capitalize on these opportunities and benefit from the enablers provided to facilitate their investment journey.
In his speech at the meeting held on the sidelines of the “K Show 2025” exhibition in Germany, Al-Kharif highlighted the economic and industrial transformation taking place in the Kingdom as part of Vision 2030, emphasizing the vital role of industry as a fundamental pillar for economic diversification and noting the national industrial strategy leading the achievement of these national targets.
Al-Kharif confirmed the development witnessed by the Saudi petrochemical sector and the rapid progress towards converting petrochemical products into transformative industries to maximize the economic impact of the sector. He explained that the Kingdom provides many incentives and enablers to attract local and global investments in the transformative industries sector.
He presented to investors the competitive advantages of the industrial investment environment and the Kingdom’s strategic assets that make it a promising destination for global industrial investments, including qualified human capabilities, its geographic location linking three continents and connecting it to key regional and global markets, abundant natural resources, competitive energy prices, advanced infrastructure, and advanced industrial cities, urging investors to invest in the Kingdom.
The minister pointed to the industrial transformation taking place in the Kingdom and the pivotal role of the Advanced Manufacturing and Production Center in enabling this transformation. This center acts as an umbrella for the ministry’s initiatives to adopt automation and advanced industrial technologies. These initiatives include the Future Factories Program, which aims to accelerate the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies and applications in 4,000 factories, in addition to the Industrial Lighthouses Program, which targets enabling leading national factories to adopt the latest advanced technologies to improve production efficiency and qualify them for global recognition within the World Economic Forum’s Global Lighthouse Network, alongside the Capabilities Centers Network and the Operational Excellence Program.
