Manama, September 3 /BNA/ Brigadier Doctor Sheikh Fahad bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Medical Services, confirmed that the Fuji-film Oasis Velocity 1.2T Open MRI, the first of its kind in Bahrain, is now available to patients at the Military Hospital. It has started receiving patients and conducting diagnostic examinations under the supervision of a specialized medical and technical team. He pointed out that this step represents a qualitative leap in diagnostic services due to the device’s accuracy, speed, and high-quality results, in addition to providing a comfortable and safe experience for patients.

The device is an ideal option for specific groups such as children, obese patients, and those suffering from claustrophobia, as it serves as an effective alternative to traditional closed MRI machines. It can be used to diagnose diseases of the brain, nerves, tumors, bones, and ear, nose, and throat.

The operation of the device comes after completing an integrated project that included designing, building, and equipping a special room for it according to the highest international standards. This step represented a technical and architectural challenge due to the requirements of this advanced type of device. The room was fully prepared to provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients, ensuring the provision of advanced healthcare to citizens and residents according to the highest specifications.
