The Egyptian Freedom Party, led by Dr. Mamdouh Mohamed Mahmoud, affirmed that the visit by Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati accompanied by the Palestinian Prime Minister to the Rafah crossing represents a highly significant political and humanitarian message reflecting Egypt’s steadfast commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people in facing Israeli aggression and violations. Dr. Mamdouh Mohamed Mahmoud stated that the visit came at a highly sensitive time to reaffirm Egypt’s firm stance rejecting any attempts at forced or voluntary displacement of Palestinians, considering it a historic crime that cannot be accepted under any circumstances and a direct targeting of the Palestinian cause. He added that the Rafah crossing will remain a lifeline connecting the Egyptian and Palestinian peoples, embodying the deep historical ties between Egypt and Palestine.
The visit represents a true embodiment of Egypt’s humanitarian and national commitment towards the Gaza Strip, which faces an unprecedented humanitarian disaster due to ongoing Israeli aggression and the imposed siege on its residents. The Freedom Party leader praised the great efforts exerted by the Egyptian state through its institutions and concerned bodies to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza and the continuous work to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people amid highly complex regional and international circumstances. Dr. Mamdouh Mahmoud pointed out that this step reflects the clarity of the Egyptian vision and its complete rejection of any attempts to impose facts on the ground or marginalize Palestinian rights, stressing that a just and comprehensive solution will only be achieved by ending the occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Freedom Party leader called on the international community to bear its legal and moral responsibilities and seriously engage with the clear messages carried by the visit, affirming that international silence regarding the crimes committed in the Gaza Strip does not exempt anyone from responsibility.
